What are blogs, community blogs, bloggers and blogging?

A "blog" is a short way of saying "Weblog." Most Blogs are written by one person, such as the owner of a web site. There are also "community blogs," to which many people contribute. Gartner Blogs are community blogs. "Bloggers" are the authors of Blogs. "Blogging" is the act of running or contributing to a Blog.

You and other registered users of gartner.com along with Gartner analysts and associates may contribute. Blog posts include daily thoughts, views and information for all users of the Blog to read and comment on.

The blogs operate under separate Terms and Conditions from the rest of gartner.com providing users a new way to interact with Gartner analysts and with other users. The Blogs are the only Gartner Web offering where users have an online forum to participate in the issues that affect them directly.

How can I participate?

You may contribute at anytime by clicking the "Submit Comment" button. The Blog moderator reserves the right to post your comment in its entirety, in an edited version or not at all. Any editing will be done primarily for purposes of clarity, length or deletion of offensive, inappropriate, or potentially defamatory material.
Your name will appear with your comment when it is posted on the Blog. The name of your organization will also appear if you provide it. Our Blogs do not maintain the privacy and confidentiality you expect in the other areas of gartner.com. Gartner is not responsible for Blog content written by Blog contributors.

When you click the "Submit Comment" button, a form will appear. You may compose your comment directly on the comment form or create it with another program and copy it to the form. Comments cannot be longer than 5,000 characters.
